Dan Snyder is trying so hard to avoid the name leaking

Due to pressure from team sponsors .. Rideskins change his name because of the symbolism of "racism"

The Washington Redskins club, announced that it will change its name after pressures from sponsors, against the backdrop of this title, which is considered racist against the indigenous people of the United States.

The club, which is based in the American capital, announced early July that it was considering changing its name, after wide calls for this matter in the wake of the massive protests that took place in the country against the background of the killing of the black citizen George Floyd after his arrest by a white policeman in the city of Minneapolis late May.

"Today, we announce that we will withdraw the name Redskins and the logo from circulation until the completion of this review," the club said in a statement Monday.

The club owner, Dan Dan Snyder and coach Ron Rivera, are working closely to develop a new name and approach (for the slogan) that enhance our club's proud and rich tradition, and inspire our sponsors, fans and society over the next 100 years.

In the past period, several calls were issued to push the club to change its name and logo and put an end to what is considered a "racial insult".

FedEx Air Cargo was the most prominent advocate of the change, and it has the most influence because it has a contract worth $ 205 million to launch its name on its stadium until 2025.

The company issued a statement in which it publicly called on the club to give up its name, while the Washington Post reported that the company also warned that it would refrain from paying the remaining amounts due in the pastoral contract between them, estimated at more than $ 40 million.

Other sponsors have also taken steps, such as "Pepsi", which saw that the time has come to change the name, while sports equipment company "Nike" has removed the club's products from the exhibits on its website.

The club was founded in 1932 under the name Boston Boston, before it became "Redskins" in 1933. The club moved to Washington four years later.

Dan Snyder is trying very hard to avoid the name leaking

With Washington continuing to franchise a serious process of choosing a new name and logo, team owner Daniel Snyder did everything he could to avoid the leaks. To do this, through Les Carpenter of The Washington Post, Snyder "relies heavily on a small group of advisers, including coach Ron Rivera."
Until this point, the idea worked. But no one knows the names that are being considered seriously, and nobody knows much about the review process. Carpenter says the team hopes to put the new name in place before the training camp opens on July 28.

The issue of trademark rights remains hovering around the process. It will be difficult for the team to maintain the proper brand protection insurance process.
According to the report, unless the training camp is delayed, there will be a new name within 13 days.
