Arsenal has revealed the injury of Spanish player Hector Pelierin, which was exposed during the face of Chelsea, last Saturday, in round 23 of the English Premier League.

The British club issued a formal statement on Tuesday, announcing the injury of Pelerin rupture of the cruciate ligament of the left knee.

Arsenal confirmed that the Spanish international will undergo surgery and that he will be rehabilitated within six to nine months.

Pellerin suffered a severe knee injury when he beat Chelsea on Saturday, forcing him out and not finishing the game.

This is the second injury to the cruciate ligament in Arsenal this season, after Rob Holding's injury to Manchester United last month, and his absence until the end of the season.
