A senior administration official revealed today, Monday, that American health officials and drug makers expect to start producing doses of the vaccine for the emerging coronavirus by the end of this summer.

According to CNBC, the United States aims to distribute 300 million doses of Covid 19 vaccine by early 2021.A senior Trump administration official told reporters during an online conference that the manufacturing process is already underway although "they are not sure which vaccines will work successfully," adding that they are already buying equipment, securing manufacturing sites and being supplied with raw materials.

He added: "For a question, when exactly will the vaccine components be in production and manufacture? It is maybe four to six weeks from now. But we will be manufacturing activity by the end of the summer."

Because of the epidemic, US health officials and researchers have accelerated the development of potential vaccines by investing in multiple stages of research, although doing so may be ineffective if the vaccine is found to be ineffective or unsafe.

The US administration has repeatedly announced its desire to have an effective vaccine ready for distribution by the end of this year, while the World Health Organization said, last month, that developing the vaccine would take at least a year or 10 months at best.
